We want to welcome new patients to Douglas Family Eyecare! We aim to make your first visit as comfortable as possible for you and your family. There are forms under the FORMS tab that can be printed and filled out prior to your first visit. Please bring all forms and vision and medical cards to your appointment. If you are a current contact lens wearer or are interested in contact lenses, there is an agreement that explains the services and must be signed. Medical conditions dictate which insurance must be billed.
After you arrive and check in with our receptionist, our optometric assistant will escort you to the pre-test room. She will review your eye and health history, any medications that you are taking, check your vision with your current glasses or contact lenses and perform a few other tests for the doctors. At that point, you will be escorted into the examination room where you will meet one of the doctors. Further testing will be done to finalize the glasses prescription and contact lens prescription as well as checking eye teaming ability and the health of your eyes. Your comprehensive examination will include the detection and diagnosis of eye diseases such as dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy to name only a few.
Once the examination is completed, you will meet our friendly opticians and enter into the optical department. We provide a complete selection of the latest modern and designer eyeglass frames with a variety of sizes for the entire family. We offer high quality customized Zeiss lenses and coatings and have in house specials making eyewear affordable for everyone.
